Women who wear the 'wrong' type of bra could be causing damage to their breasts. This is according to analysis at the University of Portsmouth, based in the south of England.

Fragile ligaments may be badly impaired especially during exercise. (And particularly during jogging and aerobics).

The research group at the university has tested over 50 bra designs for women in the course of the past three years.

A significant conclusion was that so-called 'sports bras' are not as much help as was thought.

Survey team leader, Wendy Hedger, says: "There's a social stigma about certain sizes. Many women don't want to be seen as too small or too big and buy a bra that doesn't fit well in order to be what they consider to be a normal size".

Also, a 'badly-fitted' bra can cause scarring, poor posture and backache.

Now, perhaps it is time to take a fresh look at the top of a potential problem.
