Follow That Cow
In the recent past many bovine, in Britain and elsewhere, succumbed to a bout of depression. (This was known in popular parlance as 'Mad Cow Disease'). However, the animals were not actually 'mad'. They were going through a rough patch. It was an aberration.
Are cows smarter than humans? Is it a myth ?
Today, erudite researchers at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, led by Dr Sabine Begall, have announced that cows have meteorological skills which would put any country's weather report bureau to shame.
Cattle have a 'magnetic sixth sense'. Cows can predict rainfall better than any weather prophet. They also appear to know - without the use of a compass - which way is north. (They are also pretty good at calculating which way is south).
For some reason, the herds in most of western Europe prefer heading north. These creatures are equally not bad at geography. Not a single species is recognised to have taken even one A level or high school diploma.
So, if your direction is northwards, forget using your GPS module. Just watch the cows.
