Dosage
Most of what our parents and doctors told us was wrong. You must finish every morsel on your plate. (It's a recipe to make you fat). And you must take your vitamins, and a dose of cod-liver oil.
Now we discover that vitamins are bad.
The idea that vitamins could enhance life is based on recurrent reasonable theories and observation. However, the long-established and reputable Cochrane scientific research team, of Copenhagen, has released a big report which has the conclusion that a 'normal well-balanced diet' is quite enough to keep one's self in good health. The only exception is that a small intake of vitamin C could be useful.
This information, respected or not, is not good news for the pharmaceutical giants who manufacture vitamins for comsumption by millions of souls.
The so-called culprits are BASF AG of Germany, Rhone-Poulenc of France and and the Takeda firm with headquarters in Japan.
A word of advice from this correspondent. Don't take too much vitamin 'Selenium'. It can lead to loss of skin, hair and nails.
Otherwise, enjoy your dinner. You are allowed to add a bit of salt and pepper.
But do not overdo the Selenium.
