Gawd bless Guido Fawkes, the British blogger who has picked at the scab of the government's cash for peerages scandal while other media sources have distracted readers with heatwave stories.

Last night Guido took a break from revealing the latest on Lord Levy or John Prescott's mating rituals to visit the Globalisation Institute's summer party. Like Eursoc, Guido was only mildly interested in the antics and ideology of our future alien overlords. Instead, he checked out the women the Institute manages to attract to its conference.

Readers will remember that Eursoc regularly bases its judgement on the attractiveness of the competing sides: In this case, we're swung by the arguments for globalisation.
